OptoBoticssm
Robots need eyes too
   Home      About us

OptoBoticssm - Giving your robots eyes and other photonic sensors.

Our mission is to work with young people of all ages (mostly high school and college students) and to introduce them to the wonderful world of optics and photonics.  And then to show them how these components and systems are integrated into robotics in many areas of everyday life, science and industry.  As these may seem very complex (like those on the Mars Rover Curiosity) they are understandable and we can teach students (of any age) about the basics and the more complex.

We have been doing optics and related presentations, demonstrations, workshops, informal and formal educational courses at many levels (from K-12, Community College, University and professional) for about 10 years.  Now we are using our new word 'OptoBoticssm' to help us reach out and capture the imagination of high school students and encourage them to learn about optics and photonics so they might use them in their college studies and in their careers.

Our instructors and presenters are all experienced in the art of optical science and education and you can see some photos of our past Optics Outreach programs on-line at:  View our Outreach Photo Albums

We have also mentored many students in this field and help them find additional educational and career opportunities.

We look forward to introducing 'OptoBoticssm' to your students and helping to open their eyes to this exciting field.
