Academics

The Optics Institute of Southern California partnered in 2009 with the University of California Irvine Extension (now the Division of Continuing Education) where science and engineering students and industrial professionals can take advanced courses in Optical Engineering and Instrument Design and receive certificates in these programs.  

OISC Founding Director, Donn Silberman started the UC Irvine Optics programs in 2009 and continues as an advisor.

The OISC recently donated optics outreach materials to the new Pasadena City College Laser Technology Program

This program has moved from Irvine Valley College, where Mr. Silberman was an advisor, instructor and supporter for over 25 years.
